About Virtual Research Internships

The program promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, international research experience, and the development of future researchers by creating meaningful opportunities for cross-institutional engagement.
Research Working Group

The HUC Virtual Research Internships (VRI) program connects undergraduate and graduate students with faculty-led research projects across HUC member universities. Through virtual collaboration, students gain hands-on research experience while contributing to ongoing projects and strengthening academic connections throughout the Consortium.

Objectives

  • Provide students with international research experience through virtual internships.
  • Foster collaboration between faculty and students across HUC member universities.
  • Strengthen interdisciplinary research networks throughout the Consortium.
  • Support the development of research skills and academic careers.
  • Encourage long-term collaboration among participating institutions.

How it works?

Each year, HUC faculty members submit research projects that are made available to undergraduate and graduate students from member universities. Following a selection process, students are matched with host researchers and participate in virtual research internships under faculty supervision, contributing to ongoing research while developing their academic and professional skills.
