HUC Virtual Research Internships 2026 – Invitation to Students!

Virtual research internships are an excellent opportunity to foster scientific collaboration and international academic experiences. The Hemispheric University Consortium (HUC) provides an ideal platform to connect professors and students from HUC universities across the continent.

Following our positive experience since 2021, we invite students from all disciplines to participate in this new edition of the virtual research internships program (VRI). Internships start in September 2026, with a flexible duration (8–12 weeks), depending on the selected project.

This is an invitation for undergraduate and graduate students interested in gaining research experience through virtual collaboration with professors and research teams from HUC member universities.

In the application form, you will be able to:

• Select the research project that best aligns with your academic interests.
• Provide information about your academic background, relevant coursework, language proficiency, and research experience.
• Explain your motivation for participating in the selected project(s).
• Upload the required supporting documents, including your CV, academic transcript, and academic endorsement letter.

Selected students will have the opportunity to collaborate with international research teams, expand their academic networks, and contribute to ongoing research initiatives across the Americas.

Characteristics of the HUC Virtual Research Internships 2026

• Fully virtual research experience, allowing students to participate from anywhere while collaborating with international faculty and research teams.
• Virtual internships starting in September 2026, with flexible ending dates.
• Open to undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines.
• Opportunity to apply to up to 3 research projects through separate applications submitted via the online platform.

Timeline for 2026

• July 23 – August 19: Call for students
• August 5: Informative session (10:00 a.m. Colombia time, via Zoom) Register here.
• August 20 – August 27: Student selection
• August 28: Notification of results to students
• Early September: Onboarding
• September 2026: Research internships begin (8–12 weeks, flexible schedule)
